Mindaugas Matulis, What Time Is It?, 2025, Inkjet, Acrylic, Urethane on Linen, 9 x 15 inches (22.86 x 30.48) cm
Stump Gallery is pleased to present What Time Is It?, the inaugural solo exhibition of Mindaugas Matulis. The show presents an ongoing series of paintings based on photographs and collage material. Each work marks a distinct segment; a minute, an hour, a fleeting moment. Capturing time not as a linear progression but as a looping narrative. The paintings function as modular units and they can be reconfigured endlessly. Each new arrangement unfolds a different version of the story. Symbols of beauty, decay, and luxury populate the blocks: the gloss of wealth, the aspiration of fame, the remnants of consumption. What Time Is It? invites viewers to reflect on the illusions of wealth and deception of values in a culture obsessed with image and spectacle.
